Heat Pump Grants: What You Can Claim
Up to £9,000 off a heat pump, taken straight off your quote. No forms, no waiting for a rebate. We apply, we deduct it, you pay the difference.

Do you qualify?
Two questions:
Do you own a home in England or Wales?
Are you replacing gas, oil, LPG or electric heating?
Yes to both and you’re in. No EPC needed. No income test. It doesn’t matter what you earn.
What you can claim:
Air source heat pump – £7,500
Replaces your boiler and heats radiators, underfloor and hot water.
£9,000 if you’re on oil or LPG and off the gas grid – until 31 March 2027.
Air-to-air heat pump – £2,500
Heats and cools through indoor units. What most people call air conditioning. Homes only.
One catch: your gas boiler has to go. The system has to heat your whole home, every room you use, and your hot water has to come from something that isn’t gas – usually an immersion or a hot water heat pump. We design that in.
So if you’re interested in air con in a couple of rooms with the boiler still running, we do this all the time – but you won’t qualify for the grant. The £2,500 is for switching the whole house over.
Exhaust air-to-water heat pump – £7,500
Recovers heat from the air leaving your home. Same grant as air source. Exhaust air-to-air doesn’t qualify.
0% VAT, while it lasts
Heat pumps, solar and batteries are zero-rated until 31 March 2027, then it’s 5%. A few hundred pounds on a typical job.
Deadlines
31 March 2027 – the £9,000 oil and LPG top-up drops back to £7,500
31 March 2027 – 0% VAT ends
31 March 2030 – the scheme closes
Once we’ve applied, you’ve got three months to get it installed.
Here’s a recent air-to-air heat pump installed in Tamworth, West Midlands. Now efficiently heating this home, this homeowner received the full £7,500 grant for his installation – grant application and installation fully managed by the Ronax Solutions Team.
